Today was our first official art class with Sam! We traveled to the lower school art classroom to find tables with large shiny white paper set up for us. Then we talked with Sam about artistic tools we carry with us everywhere we go...our hands!...and we began our art class with finger painting with yellow.
After some time getting to know the yellow, we added a little red and explored mixing the two colors to make a new color, orange. Some of us worked on mixing the colors, others painted the different colors next to each other to see how they looked lined up in a rainbow style pattern.

Then we added a drastically different color, black, to try our hands at contrasts and see how this color would mix with the colors already on our paper. With our fingers we made designs and pictures by finding the white underneath the paints further exploring contrasts.
