First Time With An Audience!

The children have been very excited about the upcoming Winter Concert on Friday.  The children are well prepared and the joy and confidence they are feeling is ever present as we have watched them sing during practices.   Today was our very first performance in front of an audience!  All of the Early Childhood classes were invited to our Lower School assembly to have a first run of singing in front of an audience in preparation for Friday's concert.  The children absolutely loved performing!  They were proud and self assured as they walked onto the Mueller auditorium stage and sang beautifully. The joy that they felt was so apparent and we were all so delighted to see this incredibly positive community experience before our eyes!  Oh how our Cardinals have grown this year.....

After exiting the stage, we took seats in the auditorium to watch our friends in Kindergarten perform their songs for the concert and then decided to stay for the remaining parts of the Lower School Assembly program. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the experience of singing and being part of our Lower School community and handled this new experience so well.

Outdoor play was lots of fun in the Lower School playground.  The children enjoy playing on different play areas on our campus and we feel so fortunate to have so many fantastic options!

We read the book Sod Houses On The Great Plains by Glen Rounds. This book talks about the process of building a house out of natural materials such a sod, soil, grass and mud. Throughout the story the workers follow steps to make bricks of sod to create  a wall, a chimney and a floor. Through this book we learned a little more about materials that can be used to build houses as well as the challenges that different building materials pose.
