Wednesday WInter Preparations!

We continue to strengthen our bond...

Our Morning began by joining our Lower School Community for Meeting for Worship. The children showed their growing sense of appreciation for this time of reflection and sharing. They placed themselves gently on the benches as they listened to the sounds and thoughts of others around them. It was amazing to see each class' interpretation of light on giant display boards. Please take a look at them as they are donning our hallways of the Lower School. The illustrations and colors truly bring to life what joy and happy feelings the children bring to school and to the lives of everyone they encounter.

Just a quick photo before our walk to the Meetinghouse!

After our meaningful time in the Meetinghouse,  we arrived back at our class to spend time engaged in centers with each other. This time shows the Cardinals' growing ability to interact and work with each other in cooperative ways. They are continuing to demonstrate respect, compassion and empathy as they face new situations with one another each new day! Then, a special surprise was in store for us as Justin's 7th Grade Math Class was off on a Math Caroling Adventure. We joined with Felix's 2nd Grade Class to listen to songs that had great tunes and lyrics as they also incorporated number and math concepts. The children were a great audience and admired the performance of their older peers as they looked up to them (literally) with smiles and eyes wide open. We even had the opportunity to join in the chorus of one song that helped us practice counting!

We ended our morning together, exploring in different areas of the classroom. During this time, the teachers noticed a continuing interest in building with the Magna Tiles and other materials. The children also continued preparations for our Winter Celebrations before break. We designed more decorations and continued creating a surprise for our families!
