Today the children spent their time busily exploring. Before morning meeting, the Cardinals explored the block area venturing to find new ways to extend already impressive structures higher creating elaborate skyscrapers. The collaborative efforts that we are observing in the block area reflect the tremendous growth the children are realizing in the areas of social and emotional development.
We are very excited to see that our vegetable seeds are growing! Daily check-in in our science area has become a part of our morning routine and the children are delighted to see the beginning sprouts in several of our planting cups. Watering the seeds on a regular schedule is an important part of this process and the children are taking this responsibility quite seriously. Each day we discover changes in at least one of the plants and the children are becoming more skillful in their observational skills. This multi-step process of planting seeds and caring for them in our classroom provides numerous opportunities for learning . The children are invested in this project and the learning is so meaningful each child.
We played a Language and Literacy game at Choice time. We played Easy Words- Fun To Know Puzzles. This game helps to expand vocabulary and word recognition skills. The children really enjoy playing games in small groups and worked well together taking turns .
Outdoor play was glorious today! We played in the large, open area in front of our school and the children absolutely loved playing together in this open space. Creative, play at it's best! What a joy to be together!
