Outdoor Play and Shared Read-Aloud

We ended our morning with a wonderful shared story called Thank You, Thanksgiving by David Milgrim. This story displayed the feeling of gratitude that this time of year brings to the surface. The main character in this story, a little girl, went on a journey to the grocery story, identifying and sharing thoughts on all the things that she was thankful for. We discussed how this holiday is also a time to share food and experiences with each other, including friends, family and extended people in our community. This connected so meaningfully to the end of the story when the little girl in the story used all of the items she bought at the grocey store to create a delicious pumpkin pie for her family to eat together. Then, they spent time reading, playing and talking with each other, just enjoying the company of one another.

Our day was filled with fun, discovery and excitement. Our creative sides continued to shine through as artists painted masterpieces in the studio area. In addition, elaborate structures were built using cooperation, teamwork and patience. The Cardinal Class is ready for a special visit from Carlito's dad, Carlos, who works in construction. We are looking forward to the information and ideas he can share with us about his work. We have even created a list of questions to ask. Have a wonderful weekend!
