We bundled up and explored with the snow today. As the children used their senses to explore this intriguing form of precipitation, they identified texture, temperature, and other characteristics such as color! This material provided a stimulating prop for dramatic play as many Cardinals took to cooking muffins, cakes, and other food items for birthday parties! As they engaged in cooperative play, they took turns scooping, mixing and performing the other parts of a cooking event. The snow brings us back to the joy and excitement of exploring and sharing these experiences together outdoors.
The Cardinal teachers are so excited about our upcoming community event, the Bread and Soup Dinner on Friday, February 2nd from 5:30-7:00 pm. We look forward to seeing our Cardinals there with their families and enjoying the delicious food and entertainment together. Peter Moses will be performing around 6:15 and a variety of soups will be provided by our wonderful Food Service Staff. There is a sign up sheet in our classroom for families to identify bread, dessert and other food items to accompany our dinner meal together. This is sure to be a warming event for our hearts as well as our bodies as we share and connect with each other over hot soup!
