Español con los Cardenales: Los transportes

¡Bienvenidos! During our recent clase de Español, it was Kate’s turn to choose our destination. After our traditional morning greeting in Spanish, she suggested we head to Mexico. Upon our return, we settled into this Spanish speaking country and gathered in a círculo.

Since we start all our clases determining what mode of transportation we need to take to get to our destination, we thought it would be great to learn some forms of moving. So, we began our clase de Español reviewing the Spanish vocabulary words for some types of transportation as well as learning new ones. We read Barron’s book, “Transportation/El transporte.” This book gave us the opportunity to connect the words for different kinds of transportation to its corresponding picture.

carro - car
bote - boat
autobús - bus
camión - truck
bicicleta - bicycle
excavadora – digger
tren – train
motocicleta – motorcycle
avión – airplane

After the read aloud, we played the Swatter Game  using life-like pictures of four different styles of transportation; bote, avión, tren, y carro. What a fruitful and fun way to help Los Cardenales reinforce learning!

We finished our class with our traditional song, Adios, hasta luego, and Kate squeezing la vaca. ¡Gracias, Kate!

¡Hasta nuestro proximo viaje!

Paz,
Alicia

  2. I mean I just read through the entire post and it has been really great but since I'm more of a visual learner, some more vids and charts would help a lot. Nevertheless, the topic here is really worth pondering about.
