The children had a magical day exploring our Outdoor Classroom.
A surprise was found at each new learning area. Sparkling gems were discovered and children were drawn to sorting, gathering , and counting! Buckets and digging tools were added along with really cool toy bugs and insects in our digging area and the children loved incorporating them into their play.  The sand pit was a favorite spot and the children used the new pails to fill,  carry and dump sand!  Large branches were added to our building area and the children instantly began constructing together.   Magic filled the air as the children connected with friends and our magnificent environment.

The children have quickly adapted to their new classroom, teachers and schedule and our morning was busy with children fully engaged!

We have introduced  two important readiness activities that the children will be involved with each morning.  Children will practice writing and name recognition skills as they sign -in when they arrive. Children love checking the sign -in chart to see which friends are at school. Today we began journal writing as well. Each Cardinal was asked to draw a picture in their very own special journal! The children then had the opportunity to dictate words or stories for their illustrations, practicing language skills and connecting ideas with words. Children will work on journals on a regular basis.

The children are very proud of their work. Be sure to stop in and share in their learning!
