Language
Experience Charts support literacy development for young children. Children practice expressive language,
vocabulary development and learn to connect ideas with words. The social
development that is inherited in this process includes respecting ideas of
others, listening as others speak and learning to take turns. Seeing the relationship between
spoken words and written words is an important beginning step to reading
readiness.
Enjoy the beginning thoughts that some of our children expressed when thinking about what peace means to them.
What is Peace...
Kendall: It's when you are with your friends and it makes you feel good.
Violet: It is when everybody is nice to you.
Evan: When you love somebody.
Lily: When you run.
Jayden: When you are at school and somebody asks if they can play with you.
Carlos: When people are sad, they want somebody to stay with them. When you are sad you don't know what to do.
Stella: Quiet
